  36.       What is Comic Collector? 
  37.                
  38.       Comic Collector is a program for making a database of your 
  39.       comic book collection. Adding comics to the database is 
  40.       quick and easy because of the "Add Multiple Comics" 
  41.       feature, which lets you add entire series of comic books in 
  42.       one single action. 
  43.       The resulting list can be sorted, searched, grouped, 
  44.       printed or exported to HTML or ASCII. Read on for more 
  45.       details. 
  46.                
  47.       Adding comics to the database 
  48.                
  49.       The "Add Multiple Comics" feature is the quickest way to 
  50.       add your entire collection of comic books to the list. Just 
  51.       set the range of issues you want to add (e.g. issue 5 to 
  52.       57) and fill in the field values that are the same for all 
  53.       issues you are adding, e.g. Series, Genre, Format, 
  54.       Publisher, etc.. (screen 1). Then click OK and Comic 
  55.       Collector will generate comic items in your collection file 
  56.       for all issue numbers you checked in the Issue List. 
  57.                
  58.       If you want, you can edit the created comic items later to 
  59.       add issue-specific information, like Title, Nr of Pages, 
  60.       Plot, etc... (screen 2) or the Edition you have. (screen 
  61.       3).

  63.       Using the database 
  64.                
  65.       Once you have entered a number of comics you can view the 
  66.       list on the main screen, e.g. as a simple list of all 
  67.       comics (screen 4). It is also possible to browse your 
  68.       collection of comics viewing them grouped by series (screen 
  69.       5) or by genre (screen 6) or by other fields and even 
  70.       combination of fields. 
  71.       The list section of the screen either shows a list with 
  72.       multiple columns (you can choose which columns) or small 
  73.       images of the comic covers (screen 7). 
  74.                
  75.       All lists can be sorted instantly, on any field, e.g. 
  76.       alphabetically on series, artist or publisher, or sorted on 
  77.       release date or purchase date. Using the "incremental 
  78.       search" functions you can find items quickly. Just sort the 
  79.       list on the field you want to search on, then start typing 
  80.       the first letter of the value you are looking for. While 
  81.       you type the selection will jump to the first item that 
  82.       matches.

  84.       Using the Filter feature you can search for any value in 
  85.       any field, e.g. find all american horror comics with the 
  86.       word "space" in the title. You can even make combinations 
  87.       of search criteria, e.g. find all recent SF books from the 
  88.       UK (screen 8).
